Four Friends, One Mission

Mary Gallois

I’m Mary Gallois, a Scot now living in Little Thetford. Fairness has always been a bit of an obsession, both as a teacher and a citizen. It’s why I wanted to volunteer in Cambodia and Myanmar when I retired - why should people’s lives be so seriously disadvantaged by the place they’ve been born, their accident of birth? It’s not fair.

When I saw the impact a local charity was having each time a vehicle was taken to Lviv, I wanted to participate and try to make a difference there. On average 50 lives are saved by each 4x4 or ambulance and its contents.

What a privilege to participate in something so well targeted and organised! I’m proud to be driving across Europe to Ukraine in February 2027 with Convoy4Ukraine and to be doing it with friends and my husband Keith just puts the icing on the cake.

Andrew Noyes

I shall be a navigator on this trip, supporting the driving team and keeping us on the right route.

I am a member of The Cyriacs band and am delighted to have supported Convoy4Ukraine through a number of fundraising ceilidhs, each time meeting more and more wonderful Ukrainian people.

The injustice of being driven out of one’s home, or maybe killed or maimed by an invader really upsets me and is my driver to help as much as I can.

What is currently happening is simply not right.

Craig "Banjo' West

I’ve spent the last few years watching events unfold and wondering what more I could do. Donating funds is essential, but I reached a point where I wanted to offer practical, hands-on support in a completely different way. For me, this mission is about showing up in person: looking into the eyes of the people we are supporting, listening to their stories, and reminding them directly that they are neither forgotten nor alone.

Taking the wheel and driving across the continent into Ukraine will truly be the trip of a lifetime—challenging, eye-opening, and deeply personal.

Every pound raised goes straight into sourcing reliable vehicles, life-saving aid, and ensuring essential support gets right into the hands of local communities.

Thank you so much for your generosity and for being part of this journey with me. Every share, message, and donation makes a tangible difference

Keith Gallois

I am a Little Thetford resident and manager of the community choir Witchford Voices.

In our last concert we partnered with Vyshyvanka Voices, a Ukrainian choir. Their personal stories affected me deeply. I believe you can stand by and watch horrors on the news, or you can stand up, and in your own little way, try to make a difference. I am delighted to be doing this journey alongside my incredible wife Mary and great friends Craig and Andrew.

Your support, be it financial donation, sponsorship, event attendance, or simply keeping up an awareness of the affects of the conflict on Ukraine, is very much appreciated.
